Why the computer slows down and freezes – reasons and solution

Almost all PC users are faced with the fact that over time, the computer began to slow down. But, a few months ago, this has not happened yet and this car “flew” even in the most difficult games. What is the reason?

In fact, the PC can slow down for various reasons. The most common among them are:

viruses
lack of free space on the hard drive;
system overheating;
expiration of HDD service life;
clogged startup;
Let’s briefly look at their solution.

Viruses
Viruses are special microprograms that perform various malicious functions. The user does not immediately learn about their presence, as in most cases the blocking is done by the antivirus. But, with their accumulation, the computer slows down and freezes more and more. The solution to this problem is to clean the system with powerful antiviruses when loading a PC, or full formatting of the HDD.

Lack of free space
Also, the reason for the freezing and braking of the computer is a completely clogged HDD. The solution to this problem is only to delete unnecessary files. If you don’t want to delete anything, then you should buy a new hard drive, or transfer all your data to cloud storage.

Also here can be attributed “garbage”, which accumulates in the form of a cache, logs, etc. They can be deleted using special programs.

System overheating
Overheating is a very scary thing. This not only slows down games on the computer, but there is also the possibility of a PC failure. This problem is the second most common after malicious viruses. Naturally, the developers provided for the possibility of overheating and made an emergency shutdown of the computer. But this does not solve the problem. In order to avoid freezes and shutdowns during overheating, it is recommended to regularly clean coolers, change thermal grease, etc. These actions will lead to normal air circulation near actively heating elements and uniform heat dissipation.

HDD Running Out
Unfortunately, nothing is eternal. Especially such actively used things as HDD. It has its own number of rewriting cycles and upon their expiration the surface begins to simply crumble. Thus, the system cannot receive responses from the “bad” sectors, leading to the computer slowing down and freezing. The solution is to use SSDs, or regularly check and fix the bad sectors on the HDD.

Clogged startup
With the installation of new software, some people do not notice that it goes into startup. These are all kinds of scanners, antiviruses, browsers and other programs that run automatically and constantly work with the system. Thus, they load resources to the very throat, which leads to a PC freeze. The solution is to turn off unnecessary services and scan your computer for errors.

Before you do something to speed up, you must understand why the computer started to slow down. By identifying the cause correctly, you can effectively solve the problem without harming your machine.
